LAMBERT WINS IN SOUTH BEND

Former National Champion Al Lambert, from suburban Chicago, won the 14th Annual South Bend Pool Checker Festival on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, with 30 points out of a possible 40.  Fellow Top Masters Charles "Pecan" Thompson, Carol Stream, Ill., and last year's winner Clorius "Mongoose" Lay, Gary, Ind., followed closely with 28 and 26 points.  Scoring was based on 2 points per win and 1 per draw.

Ernest "Rome" Lee, Chicago, won the "B" Division with 35 out of a possible 44.  First-time competitor
Charlie Williams, Louisville, Ky., was
second at 32 and Andrew "Twin" Young, Chicago, third with 27.

Attendance totaled 23, one more than last year, and the players came from 6 different states.  Many thanks
to the American Pool Checker
Association, John Curtis, and Clorius Lay, for their donations which made for
improved prizes including plaques for the division winners.  Roger Blaine was Tournament Director.  Updated
numerical ratings based on the South
Bend results will be announced later.
